A team of Mississauga Home Stagers were ready to refresh a tired front and backyard: patchy, uneven grass and an outdated stepping-stone path that no longer suited the home. They wanted the property to feel like home, with outdoor design and care that felt intentional, so a new family could move in and appreciate it from day one. We proposed sod replacement in the areas that needed it most, alongside a new paver pathway to bring the whole front yard together, plus a simple upgrade connecting the front and back yards using materials already on site, keeping the job cost effective and un-wasteful while still giving the home a fresh new look.

Before & Goals

Parts of the front and back lawn had thinned and gone patchy over time, and the existing stepping-stone path felt dated next to the home's exterior. The goal was a clean, even lawn paired with a defined pathway that gave the entrance real presence, plus an easy way to link the front and back yards without unnecessary waste.

What We Built

Removed old, patchy grass and installed fresh sod
Removed outdated stepping stones and installed a new interlock paver pathway with a black running border for a crisp, finished edge
Relocated existing gravel and stepping stones from the front yard to create a new back-door path into the backyard
Added four extra natural stone stepping stone pavers to the backyard for additional coverage
Planting and mulching completed by our friend Simone at The Garden Coach

Reclaimed gravel & Natural Stone stepping stones (relocated from front yard)
4 additional natural stone pavers (NST - Sandstone Pavers in Dove Grey)

How We Built It

Our team stripped the worn front lawn, added fresh soil, and laid new sod for an even, healthy finish. For the pathways, we removed the old stepping stones, laid geotextile, then dug and prepped the base with 8" of compacted aggregate, tamped down every 2" to prevent shifting from our harsh winters, before installing Ashford Summer Mist pavers with a Standard Grey Mix border for a clean, defined edge. The reclaimed gravel and natural stone stepping stones from the front yard were relocated over that same geotextile and compacted base to build a new path from the back door into the backyard, finished off with four additional natural stone pavers for extra coverage.

An outdoor Collaboration

This project was a collaboration with our good friend Simone from The Garden Coach, who handled all the planting and mulching on the property. If you're looking for help with the horticulture side of things, Simone is fantastic! She specializes in Horticulture and outdoor design, she also coaches her clients on how to care for and tend to their own garden beds long after the planting is done.

Final Result

The front yard now has a clean, even lawn paired with a defined paver pathway that gives the entrance real curb appeal. With Simone's planting and mulching finishing the space, the project delivered a cohesive, finished look from front door to back.
